What is DermaPen Microneedling with Polynucleotides?
DermaPen Microneedling with Polynucleotides takes your microneedling treatment a step further. Alongside the DermaPen, we use a Polynucleotide (PDRN) product, a small vial of highly active skin-regenerating ingredients applied directly onto the skin during treatment. It is not an injection. Depending on your skin and what it needs, we will decide whether Polynucleotides are the right addition for you and apply them as part of the microneedling process
The micro-channels created by the DermaPen allow the Polynucleotides to absorb deeply into the skin, where they work to accelerate repair, stimulate collagen production, and restore visible vitality. This treatment is ideal for clients who want to go beyond standard microneedling and experience deeper, longer-lasting improvements in skin quality, firmness, and radiance.
What are Polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides (commonly referred to as PDRN or PolyDeoxyRiboNucleotide) are highly purified fragments of DNA that work at a cellular level to support the skin’s natural repair processes. At Eterno Clinic, the Polynucleotide product is supplied in a small vial and applied directly onto the surface of the skin during the microneedling treatment. It is not used for injection. The micro-channels created by the DermaPen allow the active ingredients to be absorbed effectively into the deeper layers of the skin, where they can provide the greatest benefit.

Following your initial course, maintenance treatments are recommended to preserve and build upon your results over time. Due to the corrective nature of this treatment, results can be long-lasting with consistent aftercare.
What to Expect During & After Treatment
Before the treatment begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area to ensure your comfort. Once the skin is prepared, the DermaPen is used to carry out the microneedling whilst the Polynucleotide product is applied directly onto the skin’s surface. It is not injected at any point. The sensation is typically described as a mild warming or tingling feeling.
Following treatment, it is normal to experience:
- Redness and mild sensitivity, similar in appearance to light sunburn
- Some tightness or minor swelling in the treated area
- Slight peeling or flaking as the skin begins to renew itself
These are all signs that the skin is actively healing. Most clients are able to return to work and daily activities within 48 hours. You will be provided with full aftercare instructions to support your recovery and maximise your results.
