Why Consider Wart Removal?

In most cases, warts are harmless but we understand they can affect your confidence and you may want them removed for cosmetic reasons. Many reasons also include:

• To achieve a smooth skin with minimal or no scarring
• Efficient and effective removal of unsightly warts
• Swift and lasting elimination of warts
• Prevents the spread or recurrence of warts
• Boost your confidence

Our Wart Removal Treatment

We use a Plasma Pen, which is a non-surgical method for removing all your unwanted warts. The Plasma Pen is carefully held over your wart(s) without direct contact and a small electrical ‘arc’ is then released over the targeted area, which cauterises the wart, removing it completely.
The treatment itself is incredibly speedy and, more importantly, it is virtually painless. The most you will feel is a slight stinging sensation. The entire treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on the number of warts. In most cases, there is a high success rate after just one treatment, though larger lesions may require additional sessions for the best results.

Aftercare Process

Immediately after your treatment, you can go home or back to work. You should keep the area clean and dry and well-protected. A small scab will likely appear in the treated area which should heal within a week. Try not to add pressure to the area especially if the wart has been removed from your hand. Once the healing period is over, the scab formed by the Plasma Pen will fall off, leaving your skin smooth, healthy-looking, and free of imperfections in just a few weeks.

What are the different types of warts?

There are several types of warts, each caused by various strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). The common types of warts include:

Common Warts (Verruca Vulgaris): These warts often appear on the hands, fingers, and around the nails. They have a rough texture and may have small black dots, which are tiny blood vessels.

Plantar Warts: These warts develop on the soles of the feet and can be painful, especially when walking. They often have a hardened or calloused area over them.

Flat Warts (Verruca Plana): These warts are generally smoother and smaller than other types. They often appear in clusters on the face, neck, hands, or knees.

Filiform Warts: These warts have a thread-like or finger-like projection and often appear on the face, particularly around the eyes, mouth, and nose.

Periungual Warts: These warts form around the nails and may affect the nail bed, leading to distortion of the nail.

It’s essential to note that different types of warts may require specific treatments, and consulting with a healthcare professional is advisable for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.

  • Is wart removal painful?
  • Most wart removal procedures involve minimal discomfort. Local anesthesia is often used. Patients might experience mild pain or discomfort during and after the procedure.

  • The likelihood of scarring depends on the removal method and individual healing. In many cases, scarring is minimal. Surgical methods may carry a slightly higher risk of scarring.

  • How long does the wart removal treatment take?
  • The wart removal treatment will take around 30 minutes, depending on the number of warts that need to be removed.

  • Can I use over-the-counter products for wart removal?

  • Should I pick, pull or cut my wart(s)?
  • Avoid picking, pulling, rubbing, scratching, or attempting to cut a wart on your own, as you can exacerbate the issue and potentially spread it to other areas of your body.
