Skin Tag Removal Treatment
We use the ACCOR Plasma Pen to perform the procedure, which works by cauterising the skin tag, flattening and shrinking it, leaving a small carbon crust behind which then falls away very quickly post treatment. It is safe and non-surgical, as well as very quick and convenient.
The whole procedure takes approximately 30 minutes depending on the number of skin tags. It doesn’t hurt at all but you may experience a slight stinging sensation. You can resume normal activities, including work, within 24 hours. Most cases show a high success rate after just one treatment, though larger lesions may require additional sessions for best results.
After the Treatment
After your skin tag removal treatment, it is important to take proper care of the affected area. This includes keeping the treated skin clean and dry, and applying an antiseptic cream or ointment to help prevent infection. It is also important to wear loose-fitting clothes and avoid picking or scratching at the area. Typically the carbon crust falls away within 7-14 days post treatment.
Generally, cryotherapy and laser treatments take between 7-14 days to heal, while cutting or burning off a tag may take slightly longer. In some cases, it may be necessary to use an antiseptic cream or antibiotic ointment at the treatment site to help protect against infection.
When Should I Consider Having It Removed?
It is important to remember that skin tags are not harmful and do not need to be removed.
