What is DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes and Polynucleotides?
This is our most advanced microneedling treatment, and it is the one we reach for when a client’s skin really needs more than the standard approach can offer. In a single session, we use the DermaPen alongside two professional-grade products applied directly onto the skin: exosomes and polynucleotides. Both come in small vials and are used on the skin’s surface during the treatment. Neither is an injection.
What makes this treatment different is that both products are used together in the same session, not as alternatives to each other. They work in different ways and that is exactly the point. The exosomes focus on hydration, reducing inflammation and triggering repair at a cellular level. The polynucleotides support the structural side of things, encouraging new collagen and elastin and helping damaged or ageing tissue to rebuild. Together, they cover more ground than either product could on its own.
How Does It Work?
The treatment follows the same process as our other microneedling options. A numbing cream is applied first to keep you comfortable. The DermaPen then creates tiny micro-channels across the skin’s surface, which wakes up the skin’s natural healing response and allows the products we apply to absorb far more effectively than they would through intact skin.
Once the microneedling is underway, both the exosome and polynucleotide products are applied directly onto the skin. They are not injected at any point. The micro-channels allow them to reach the deeper layers of the skin where the real work happens: collagen stimulation, tissue repair, cellular regeneration, and deep hydration all taking place at the same time.

What are Exosomes and Polynucleotides?
If you have not come across these ingredients before, here is a quick explanation of what each one does.
Exosomes
Exosomes are microscopic particles that play a key role in how cells talk to each other. They carry signals that tell the skin to repair and regenerate. The product we use is INNO-EXOMA EXO-SKIN by Innoaesthetics, made from 100% synthetic exosome-like molecules with no animal-derived ingredients. When applied to the skin during microneedling it helps to boost collagen, calm inflammation, speed up tissue repair, and deliver deep hydration.
Polynucleotides (PDRN)
Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments that work at a cellular level to support the skin’s own repair processes. Our PDRN product comes in a small vial and is applied to the skin’s surface during the same session. It stimulates fibroblast activity, encourages the production of new collagen and elastin, and helps to rebuild skin that has been damaged by ageing, scarring, or sun exposure.

Who is This Treatment Suitable For?
This is our most intensive microneedling treatment and is particularly well suited to clients who want to tackle more than one concern in a single course of treatment, or whose skin has not responded as hoped to other approaches. It works well for:

- Moderate to significant signs of ageing including lines, wrinkles, and sagging
- Dehydrated or dry skin that lacks moisture and resilience

This treatment is not recommended for clients with active acne, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone with a known sensitivity to any of the product ingredients. A thorough consultation will take place before treatment to confirm this is the right option for you.
How Many Treatments Are Recommended?
We recommend an initial course of 6 to 8 treatments spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart. Because this is our most advanced microneedling option, some clients choose to start here whilst others work up to it following an initial course of one of our other microneedling treatments. We will advise on the most sensible approach for your skin during your consultation.
Maintenance treatments are recommended following your initial course to sustain and continue building on your results over time.
What to Expect During and After Treatment
A topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area before the session begins to keep you comfortable throughout. Once the skin is ready, the DermaPen microneedling is carried out and both the exosome and polynucleotide products are applied directly onto the skin’s surface. Neither product is injected at any point. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild warmth or gentle tingling.
Following treatment it is normal to experience:
- Redness and mild sensitivity, similar to light sunburn
- Some tightness or minor swelling in the treated area
- Slight flaking or peeling as the skin begins to renew
These are all positive signs that the skin is healing and regenerating. Most clients are comfortable returning to their normal routine within 48 hours. Full aftercare guidance will be provided to help you get the very best from your treatment.

Downtime is minimal. Most clients experience redness and mild sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours after treatment. With the correct aftercare in place, the majority of people are comfortable returning to their normal activities within two days.
