What is DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes?

DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes takes your microneedling treatment a step further. Alongside the DermaPen, we use INNO-EXOMA EXO-SKIN, a cutting-edge exosome product that comes in a small vial and is applied directly onto the skin during the treatment. It is not an injection. Depending on your skin and what it needs, we will decide whether exosomes are the right addition for you and apply them as part of the microneedling process.

The micro-channels created by the DermaPen allow the exosomes to be absorbed deeply into the skin, where they get to work supporting repair, stimulating collagen, and delivering intense hydration from within. This treatment is particularly well suited to clients whose skin feels dry, tired, or lacking in vitality, as well as those looking to address the visible signs of ageing.

What are Exosomes?

Exosomes are microscopic particles that play a key role in how cells communicate with one another. They carry signals between cells that help to trigger repair, regeneration, and renewal processes within the skin.

The exosome product we use at Eterno Clinic is INNO-EXOMA EXO-SKIN by Innoaesthetics. It is made from 100% synthetic exosome-like molecules, produced using an advanced biotechnology called NARBEX (Non-Animal Regenerative Bioengineering Exosome). This means the product replicates the regenerative behaviour of natural exosomes without using any animal-derived ingredients, making it both an ethical and highly effective choice.

The product is supplied in a small vial of lyophilised powder which is combined with a saline solution before being applied to the skin. It is not used for injection. Applied topically during the microneedling treatment, it works at a cellular level to restore and improve skin health in a way that standard serums simply cannot match.

How Does the Treatment Work?

DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes brings together two highly effective approaches in a single treatment session:

Step 1: DermaPen Microneedling

The DermaPen device uses a sterile cartridge of ultra-fine needles to create thousands of tiny micro-channels on the surface of the skin. This controlled process triggers the skin’s natural healing response, stimulating the production of new collagen and elastin and encouraging the skin to renew itself from within.

Step 2: Exosome Application

The INNO-EXOMA EXO-SKIN product is applied directly onto the skin’s surface during the microneedling treatment. It is not injected at any point. The micro-channels created by the DermaPen allow the exosomes to absorb far more effectively than they would through intact skin, reaching the deeper layers where they can support tissue repair, stimulate collagen production, and deliver lasting hydration. The result is a noticeably healthier, more radiant complexion.

Treatment Benefits

When DermaPen Microneedling is combined with Exosomes, clients can expect a wide range of visible improvements, including:

  • Deeply hydrated, plump, and replenished skin
  • Visibly reduced fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improved skin firmness and elasticity
  • A brighter, more even and radiant complexion
  • Smoother skin texture and reduced pore appearance
  • Reduced appearance of scarring and skin damage
  • Restored skin vitality in dull or devitalised skin
  • Accelerated healing and reduced inflammation post-treatment

Because exosomes work at a cellular level to support the skin’s own repair processes, results build progressively over a course of treatments. Many clients notice a meaningful improvement in overall skin health and hydration that goes beyond what standard microneedling alone can achieve.

Who is This Treatment Suitable For?

DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes is suitable for all skin tones and works particularly well for those experiencing:

  • Dehydrated or dry skin lacking moisture and suppleness
  • Dull, tired, or devitalised skin
  • Fine lines, wrinkles, and early to moderate signs of ageing
  • Loss of skin firmness or elasticity
  • Scarring or uneven skin texture
  • Skin that has not responded as hoped to standard treatments

This treatment is not recommended for clients with active acne, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or anyone with a known sensitivity to any of the product ingredients. A full consultation will take place prior to treatment to confirm suitability.

How Many Treatments Are Recommended?

We recommend an initial course of 6-8 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart. The exact number of sessions and the interval between them will be agreed during your personalised skin consultation, based on your individual skin concerns and how your skin responds to treatment.

Following your initial course, maintenance treatments are advised to preserve and continue building upon your results. Due to the restorative nature of this treatment, improvements can be long-lasting with the right aftercare in place.

What to Expect During and After Treatment

Before the treatment begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area being treated to keep you comfortable throughout. Once the skin is ready, the DermaPen is used to carry out the microneedling whilst the exosome product is applied directly onto the skin’s surface. At no point is anything injected. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild warmth or gentle tingling.

After treatment it is normal to experience:

  • Redness and mild sensitivity, similar to light sunburn
  • Some tightness or minor swelling in the treated area
  • Slight flaking or peeling as the skin begins to renew itself

These reactions are a sign that the skin is actively healing and regenerating. Most clients are able to return to their normal routine within 48 hours. Full aftercare guidance will be provided to support your skin and help you get the best possible results.

FAQs

  • Is DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes painful?
  • A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, so the majority of clients experience only a mild warming sensation during the session. Discomfort is minimal and most people tolerate it very well.

  • Are exosomes the same as stem cells?
  • No. Exosomes are not cells at all. They are tiny particles that carry signals between cells and help to trigger repair and regeneration processes. The INNO-EXOMA product we use contains 100% synthetic exosome-like molecules, meaning no stem cells or animal-derived ingredients are involved.

  • How soon will I see results?
  • Some clients notice an improvement in skin hydration and radiance after their first session. The most significant results build progressively over the course of a full treatment plan, as collagen production increases and the skin’s repair processes are supported by repeated treatments.

  • Is there any downtime?
  • There is minimal downtime with this treatment. Most clients experience redness and mild sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours after their session. With the correct aftercare, the majority of people are comfortable returning to their daily activities within two days.

  • Can this treatment be combined with others?
  • Yes. We may recommend combining DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes with other treatments as part of a wider skin improvement plan. This will be discussed and personalised to your concerns during your consultation.

  • Is this treatment safe for all skin tones?
  • Yes. DermaPen Microneedling with Exosomes is suitable for all skin tones, including deeper Fitzpatrick skin types, making it an inclusive and versatile option for a wide range of clients.
