What Can We Treat?

Plasma Treatments

Plasma treatment has become increasingly popular in recent times due to its effectiveness at treating all manner of ageing concerns, as well as the long lasting nature of results.

Plasma sublimation is a form of 'soft surgery'. It enables reconstructive skin treatments, such as eyelid lifts (blepharoplasties) to be performed, without the need to go 'under the knife'.

Plasma Mole / Skin Tag / Wart Removal

This treatment is suitable for the removal of any small moles, skin tags and/or warts. The ACCOR Plasma Pen effectively cauterises the blood supply to any of these skin lesions. An encrusted casing forms around the treatment lesion, which then drops off within approximately 3-7 days. The skin underneath will be smooth and will heal to match the normal skin colour

  • How does Laser Hair Removal work?
Our state of the art laser delivers a single wavelength (colour) of light energy to the area being treated. Based on the principle of selective photothermolysis, the light is attracted to melanin, a pigment found in hair. The light is absorbed by the melanin and converted into heat, selectively destroying the germinating cells that feed the hair follicles for growth. By eliminating these cells, the hair then dies and begins to fall out, and future growth is inhibited. This means that regrowth occurs more slowly and hairs come through much finer, significantly reducing and perhaps even eliminating time spent shaving!
  • What is PRP?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is plasma in which the concentration of platelets is higher than that of other components of the blood. To develop a PRP preparation, blood must first be drawn from a patient. The platelets are separated from other blood cells and their concentration is increased during a process called centrifugation.
  • Who is Laser Hair Removal suitable for?
The treatment is suitable for both men and women of ALL skin tones. Our advanced technology even allows darker skin tones and sun-tanned skins to be treated, but we still urge caution when you have recently received a lot of sun exposure as heat will be retained in the skin.
  • Which body areas can be treated? (Number of areas)
Face (1 - includes upper lip, chin, forehead, cheeks and sideburns), Full neck (1), Chest (1), Underarms (1 - includes both), Shoulders (1), Upper back (1), Lower back (1), Bikini (1), Buttocks (1), Hands (1), Feet (1), Full arms (2), Upper legs (2), Lower legs (2) Mini zones (any 3 of the following for flat rate price of £59) - upper lip, chin, nipples, stomach line, fingers, toes, perianal
  • What does it feel like?
A number of settings can be altered by your therapist in order to improve treatment comfort, particularly the use of 'SHR' mode (Super Hair Removal), which allows energy to be reduced and pulsed extremely quickly while the applicator is glided over the target area. This creates a gradual heating of the area for greater comfort. We strongly believe however that in order for a treatment to be effective, the hair must be heated to the required temperature and the client must be able to feel this. This should not be overly painful though and should feel like a warm 'flicking' sensation.
  • How many treatments are required?
As a general rule a course of six treatments per body area is the minimum number recommended. Depending on the client, results may be seen after fewer treatments, or in some cases more will be required in order to achieve desired results. Often, different body areas react differently to laser treatment, with some showing results more quickly than others. After an initial course is completed, maintenance sessions are recommended every 8-12 weeks.
  • How often are treatments required?
Treatments should be spaced four weeks apart. This allows for the hair to be in the active growth stage before being treated again.
  • Are there any side effects?
It is normal for there to be some redness around the treated area, swelling around the follicle, tingling or a sensation of warmth for some time after treatment. These effects usually subside quickly however (within 24 hours). There is no downtime associated with laser treatment, making it possible for you to receive treatments during your lunch break and return to work the same day.
  • Is there anything else I should know?
It is essential that all body areas being treated are prepared prior to appointments with the application of our recommended aloe-based body lotion, which contains moisturising and hydrating ingredients. We also advise that our recommended soothing gel is applied post treatment to effectively cool the skin. Both products are available for purchase in-store.

Plasma Pigmentation and DPN (Dermatosis Papulosa Nigra) Removal

This treatment is suitable for those who suffer with small areas of hyperpigmentation and DPN present on the face or body. The ACCOR Plasma Pen effectively vaporises the unwanted visibly pigmented layer of these lesions. An encrusted casing forms around the treatment lesion, which then drops off within approximately 3-7 days.  The skin underneath will be smooth and will heal to match the normal skin colour.

Blepharoplasty

Non-Surgical Upper Blepharoplasty (Upper Eye-Lid Lift)

This treatment is suitable for those who suffer with excessive loose, saggy skin on the upper eye lids. The ACCOR Plasma Pen effectively vaporises unwanted skin cells that have experienced mass collagen breakdown, restructuring the skin into a new, tighter formation. Swelling will be present for up to 5 days and a visible carbon crust grid will be left following the treatment, which will fall away approximately 5-10 days post treatment. The skin will then commence its mass re-tightening effect, with a visible improvement seen after 3 months and optimal results usually showing 6-9 months post treatment.
